Terminal, the second session for Exposure Therapy, features Actor Network and Alex Lough performing an evocative, xenomorphic soundscape disintegrating into structural incoherence. Teeming with intensity across various registers, Terminal questions the very act of transmission as coherent, present, and whole, shattering itself like a paroxysm in one final, polyphasic lament.
Berlin-based Actor Network (Johannes Herseni) is a classically trained trombonist and electronic musician. Stripping away all but the atmospheric, his music explores the qualities of loud, unrestrained sounds reflected in architectural spaces, blending together deeply echoing remnants that reverberate through massive, industrial environments.
Alex Lough is a performer, composer, educator, and technologist based in Marlton, NJ. For Lough, space and place are his collaborators. Driven by a fascination with site-specificity, he embraces the impracticality of seemingly hostile locations, employing electronic instrumentation in concert with the aural complexities of each environment to craft electroacoustic improvisations that explore the physicality of sound.
